Class 1 Driver

We are currently recruiting HGV C+E Night Drivers on behalf of our Client based in Northampton, NN3. My Client offers a range of general haulage support to their Customers across the East Midlands.

Majority of the work is curtain sided however, on occasion there may be refrigerated work also. Drivers are expected to self tip at some destinations either on to a bay or manoeuvre freight with the use of a pump/pallet truck to the rear of the vehicle where it will be taken off by the Customers FLT Drivers.

2-3 Drops/Collections on average per shift. Maximum 6 in a shift but this is a rare occasion.

Hours of work;
Nights 18:00-19:00 starts
Shifts approx 10-12 hours per shift

Nights out can happen with these positions so Drivers must be prepared to sleep in the cab and bring preparations to the shift in case this happens. Night out fee £25.00 per night.

LTD Company rates of pay;
Mon – Fri Nights £20.00 per hour
Saturday £21.50 per hour
Sunday & Bank Holiday £22.50 per hour
 

Driver criteria;
HGV C+E Drivers Licence
2 years relevant experience
Minimum age 25 for insurance reasons
No DR, IN or TT convictions codes
No more than 6 points
