The Class 1 Personnel team is expanding! Our brand-new Reading branch is seeking Chefs looking for freelance work to join our network. Opportunities span across a wide range of industries, kitchens and events in the Greater Reading area.

What We're Looking For

We welcome chefs who are:

• Passionate about creating high-quality food
• Able to work confidently in fast-paced or unfamiliar kitchens
• Reliable, punctual, and professionally presented
• Strong communicators who work well under pressure
• Knowledgeable about food safety and hygiene procedures
• Flexible with shifts (daytime, evenings, weekends)
• We also require food hygiene certification. Some placements may require further certifications including DBS

Roles & Responsibilities

Depending on your level and placement, you may include but not be limited to:

• Prepare and cook dishes to specification
• Support service across a variety of stations
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment
• Assist with menu prep and stock rotation
• Lead kitchen sections or supervise junior staff (higher-level roles)
• Step into short-notice temporary shifts with confidence
