Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join the maintenance team at a prestigious commercial office building in the heart of Liverpool Street.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading building services provider, working within a high-rise commercial environment. The successful candidate will be mechanically qualified with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance and will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building fabric systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems
- Monitor and maintain mechanical plant
- Maintenance and fault finding on pumps, motors, seals, and bearings
- Maintenance of AHUs and FCUs, including filter changes and cleaning
- Carry out water treatment checks and temperature monitoring
- Perform basic plumbing repairs including replacing taps, washers, and clearing blockages
- Monitor and respond to BMS alarms
- Undertake basic electrical duties including lamp replacements
- Carry out general building fabric maintenance
- Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logbooks
- Proactively identify faults and arrange remedial works
- Liaise with clients, occupiers, and site management teams
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and site procedures
Requirements
- Mechanical City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 Qualification
- Proven experience within commercial building maintenance
- Experience working within a large commercial office environment
- Multi-skilled building services maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical plant and HVAC systems
